Community Assistance through Women’s Empowerment and Healthcare

Over the past 6 months, we continued our support by providing the OCP women's groups in Epulu, Mambasa, Mungbere, Niania, and Wamba with essential materials for sewing, embroidery, knitting, and community gardens. These resources support improved livelihoods and food security.

For International Women’s Day in March, women’s group members showcased their skill and creativity through an exhibition of gracefully crafted tablecloths and other sewn articles. This skillful work is a testament to their dedication and hard work. The day concluded with a celebratory dinner where members wore traditional, colorful garments made each year for the occasion with fabric provided by OCP.

The Okapi Dispensary received a valuable donation of critically needed equipment by a Wildlife Conservation Network donor, including essential equipment such as a wheelchair, medical trolley, and a massage table to perform muscle therapy treatments. These additions will bolster our healthcare staff’s capacity to provide comprehensive care to the community, reaffirming our commitment to promoting well-being for local indigenous communities,  ICCN ecoguards, OCP staff, OWR staff, and their families.
