Okapi Return to the Epulu Station in DRC After a 13 Year Absence
After more than a decade, the okapi has returned to the Epulu Station in the heart of the Okapi Wildlife Reserve. This milestone was made possible through a collaboration between ICCN, the Okapi Conservation Project, and Wildlife Conservation Society, in response to a long-standing request from local communities to bring back this iconic species.

We teamed up with our friends at Spectacled Bear Conservation Society and their felti program that empowers local women in Peru to protect critical habitat for Spectacled Bears. Just like okapi, spectacled bears need large tracts of habitat in order to survive.
The handmade okapi feltis are made of 100% sheep’s wool. Your purchase today not only helps okapi in DRC, but Spectacled Bears in Peru, too!
